The Mercer Museum.1

This weekend we visited the Mercer Museum in Doylestown, a collection of collections of everyday objects by quite an eccentric man.

It's very Pennsylvania.

These stamps somehow made wallpaper. (That brings me to a weakness of the museum--very few things are labeled or explained. I have a feeling that the museum is much as Mercer left it.)

Above (and lots of other parts too) reminds me of the Barnes museum, where iron tools are displayed with the art.

I love the clock hands.

There's even a gallows.

(Pictures of the fantastic building tomorrow.)
