For the Time Being is Auden's Christmas Oratorio, as he calls it, and it's wonderful. This Christmas was my first encounter, and I'm certain there's more to come, because I just scratched the surface in a first reading. Also, gotta admit: it reminded me of TSE's
Four Quartets and I feel safe mentioning that here, because Alan Jacobs said the same thing (in different words) in his introduction.
Anyone want to read this outloud together?
