Bleg

I hate costume parties, and, because Halloween involves them, I hate Halloween. However, I've been invited to a Halloween gathering and the only thing holding me back is the costume. Does anyone have suggestions for a low-weirdness outfit that can be made from things I already own? Bonus points for suggestions for an outfit for Francisco, too.

Not sure it's low-weirdness, but last year I was a bunch of grapes (green balloons attached to my shirt and pants with safety pins) and wearing it made dancing fun.

A few "punny" ideas...

A few repeats, but this one is fun too...

Last year, Jayber and I were "running with scissors" (I wore a large set of cardboard scissors and Jayber dressed as a runner -- you could do it yourself too: dress as a runner and carry scissors)

This year, we are going to be "snail mail". I rolled some brown paper into a "shell" and Jayber is going to wear a cardboard "sandwich" that looks like an envelope.

I could take Halloween or leave it; I think it's a bit overrated. But I LOVE LOVE costumes and the excuse for dressing up :-)

Ilana--Hahaha--not sure there's dancing at this party! Hopkins--I suggested this--and that Francisco be Ron Swanson! He wasn't having it.

Hannah--these are amazing!
