Canticle for Leibowitz

Just re-read this. It's incredibly good; I highly recommend it. It's an epic post-apocalyptic novel, the story of Christianity and the Church and of science and philosophy, with some helpful suggestions about how we should live in a troubled world and a moving conception of vocation. The ethical conundrum at the end is, at least for me, almost unfathomable.

I randomly plucked this off our bookshelf without knowing much of anything about it. It shot to my favorites list! A touch morbid for my taste, but the rest more than makes up for it.

That's great that you've read it too and liked it--I know so few people who have even heard of it!
