In a draft of one of my pre-doc applications, I noticed that I called Tocqueville, "Alex de Tocqueville." It's like we're bff, so I had to give him a nickname....
This is how everyone can tell you're a doctoral student: you used "bff" as the plural of "bff," instead of "bffs," because HELLO, "bffs" would read as "best friend forevers." Obviously.
