I'm a big fan of British girl pop. I don't know if that's a genre, but in addition to Amy Winehouse, I like Lily Allen, Adele, and sometimes Kate Nash. But mostly the first three. I like Lily Allen's mix of sarcasm and hopefulness and anger. With a little cultural criticism thrown in there (see, for instance, "22" and "The Fear," which has the line, "Life's about film stars and less about mothers").

Not only is Lily Allen a great singer (her song, "Smile" is just so mischievous, while sounding so innocent--the music video brings it even more to life, if somethings can indeed be brought more to life than other things), but she is also a great dresser.

She has a vintage/grunge aesthetic that is great. She makes vintage clothes look super modern. And she knows how to wear a green dress. Also: She isn't Lily Allen anymore! She got married in June!
