Shofuso

Shofuso is a Japanese house in Fairmount park surrounded by gardens.

The house is lovely and peaceful and oh so connected to nature--opening out to the beautiful setting at every turn. I'd heard that Frank Lloyd Wright was influenced by Asian architecture, but I didn't know what that meant, but I could definitely see loads of similarities to his work in this house--from the many horizontal lines to the integration of the house into its setting to the low ceiling line.
