Compiegne


Honestly, my favorite thing about France was the churches--any church that I just happened to stop in was old and enormous and beautiful (and cold--so glad I bundled the baby before bringing him because this one was unheated. (And all the masses I participated in were well attended, before anyone says the churches were empty.)




This town I simply passed through on the way from the small town I was visiting to Paris.





And this is how closely I missed my dream of going to a Christmas market in Europe--one was set up in the square above, but I was passing through in the morning, so it was closed up.
