Graham Greene's The Third Man

The Third Man has love, deception, a thrilling chase scene--really, it has everything. And lots and lots of symmetry and turning of things upside down. The bad guy is oddly charming and loveable (I mean, who doesn't love a villain in the first place?). Graham Greene always does such a nice job with articulating our responsibilities to ones who shun love and goodness and at offering some hope of redemption in the apparently unredeemable.
