Here are some assorted pictures from Munich. This first picture is from Munich's town hall tower. It is the Rathaus-Glockenspiel. I'm not exactly sure what a
glockenspiel is. Wikipedia says that it is something like a xylophone. Stearns insisted repeatedly that a glockenspiel is what we see in the picture on the left--a giant cuckoo clock. I annoyed her by repeatedly calling it a cuckoo clock (Emily: "Stearns, let's make sure we get back in time to see the cuckoo clock!" Stearns: "It's a glockenspiel!")
Regardless of what it is called, this thing plays a tune and tells a story--giant figures (that look like little figures) tell a story (it is unclear what that story is, but there is a guy who gets knocked off of his horse in a joust and a lot of dancing).

The window boxes in Munich (and all of Germany) were lovely--thick, brightly colored flowers were arranged in rows. The houses were sort of loaded with flowers.

Here was a memorial we came across. On the top is a statue of someone (I have no idea who, but it is not Michael Jackson). On the bottom is a make-shift memorial for the first anniversary of Michael Jackson's death.
