St. Augustine, the Lighthouse

I really only climbed the St. Augustine lighthouse in order to take pictures, so you'll have to humor me and let me share lots of them here. (Above: a live oak on the property--Tree of Life was right to choose a live oak--they're quite a tree.)

The lighthouse is tall with black and white stripes and a red top--just like Cape Hatteras Light, only smaller.

I love lighthouses. I'm not sure why. Maybe in part because they mean the beach. Maybe because they seem so incredibly stable--even storms can't knock them over.

Someday I want to rent a lighthouse to stay in in Nova Scotia, or really anywhere where there are old lighthouses for rent.

(The light itself.)

(Combining two of my favorite subjects: flowers and great architecture.)
