We've done some preparation this weekend for our very first Burns Night next weekend. Blaze wanted to do some decorating--this will hang on the door.
I practiced the whisky sauce--which is the strongest whisky-flavored food I've ever had. Perhaps I'll cut back in the second iteration.
We went to the basketball game--my close friend joined us, as did a retired colleague who has been a mentor to me since the beginning of this job--he read one of my latest pieces and came with compliments and questions. I'm so lucky.
Oh--and we had a delicious Yemeni lunch sitting on the ground before the game.
Add in mass and that was a day!
Francisco is starting a mindfulness group with one of my colleagues.
And today Francisco and Q are really excited to watch the inauguration together--Francisco got special inaugural snacks! I love my very nerdy politics guys. Today the kids are off, and it's my first day of classes.
