Thursday: College-wide lecture by one of our faculty.

A slow-moving train ground to a stop as I was walking home. I found a relatively safe (I think) way to climb between two cars. Francisco not happy: "You're a mother. Your kids need you." I guess I needed a little excitement.

Friday: Class outside at my students' request. A little cold.

I'm totally exhausted after a long day and week. Came home to a wonderful meal by our caterer with a beer that meant I passed out on the couch while Francisco read to Blaze.

We have “slow moving train ground to a halt” problems almost daily on the way to and from school, and that train is my personal nemesis. But we are driving so we can’t jump over it, or I probably would. The NYT has an article about slow moving trains grinding to a halt and blocking kids from getting to school as a national safety hazard last year. Apparently, sometimes it is unsafe to try to cross it, but not very often.

I'm sure it can go wrong.

Wow--to school would be so annoying. I've only ever been blocked my stopped trains in the afternoon.
