Our trip was all about seeing friends--Francisco's from his old school days, and some of mine who happened to be over for a couple of years. And Ilana, who would beat us back to the U.S.
I think it's more fun seeing the sights with friends, while having long conversations and enjoying good food. And of course, friends know how to sneak into colleges that you technically aren't supposed to be a tourist in. Plus, they let you into fellows' gardens--the private college gardens that are reserved for members of the college.
We visited at just the right time of the year flower-wise. It was early, early spring and everything was bright green and beginning to bloom.
